Savory Holiday Snack: Baked Ricotta Apples

Served with whole wheat toast, this instant-prep recipe packs fiber into your little ones while introducing them to sweet, clean flavors.
4 apples
1 ½ cup ricotta cheese
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon honey
3 tablespoons raisins
4 slices whole wheat bread, cut on the diagonal
Preheat the oven to 350°. In a small bowl, stir together the ricotta, raisins, honey and cinnamon. Core the apples and set upright on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Fill each core with some of the ricotta mixture. Bake until soft, about 30 minutes; toast the bread during the last 8 minutes. Let the apples cool for 15 minutes before serving to small children. Serve with the toasts.
